The MacBook Pro I use for these tests is a mid 2012 i5 2.5Ghz. For me, (the bug issue) is not a big deal at all and I’ll explain more about it a little further down. The reason I brought that up as their is a slight bug issue if you are using Catalina OS (which is what I conducted these tests on). Something to note the test camera I use is a Canon but I do have a Panasonic model as well. It’s awesome and it will be the benchmark I’ll be using when testing future Mac video transfers.
There is a free trial version you can use to give you an idea of the quality and if it’s easy enough for you to use. In order to import any tapes I am using LifeFlix software. For some reason when it comes to transferring videos to digital using a Mac, most videos I’ve seen only seem to cover the MiniDV format to transfer.
